Harry Benson, a computer scientist who suffers blackout seizures and violent rages after a car accident left him with psychomotor epilepsy, undergoes an experimental operation at a Los Angeles hospital to implant a computer that delivers electrical stimulation to his brain to suppress his attacks; when the implant instead teaches him to trigger his own pleasurable seizures, he escapes the hospital and goes on a killing spree while doctors and police try to track him down.
