A mocked, red-nosed low official in the household of the Regent Mototsune dreams only of eating his fill of yam gruel. The warrior Toshihito carries him off to Tsuruga, sends a fox ahead with a message, and sets a feast before him, but the poor man's appetite fails once the dream comes true.
